CAST

MARY HOLLAND will be playing the part of Melanie, a wimpy baker who needs to get her life back on track after her business falls into insurmountable debt.  Holland recently wrapped shooting the Comedy Central series Robbie opposite Rory Scovel that will premiere in 2020. She will next be seen in the IFC feature Greener Grass which premiered at Sundance 2019. She also co-wrote the Sony/TriStar feature Happiest Season that was just greenlit with Kristen Stewart starring. 

BETSY SODARO will be playing Danny, Melanie’s best friend and arm wrestling champ who has suffered an injury and is unable to compete in the tournament. Another UCB comedy vet, Sodaro has been seen on Disjointed with Kathy Bates, the NBC sitcom Animal Practice and in Monsters University.

OLIVIA STAMBOULIAH is an Australian native known for the TV series Soul Mates. She has also been seen on Packed to the Rafters, and will next be seen in The Walking Dead. Stambouliah is playing the part of Brenda “the Bonecrusher” Smith, the reigning champ in Ladies Arm Wrestling who intends to take down the film’s central character.

EUGENE CORDERO, a Detroit native, honed his comedy chops at Upright Citizens Brigade and has performed in Tacoma FD, Drunk History, Kong: Skull Island and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Cordero will be playing the part of Greg, an MLB ref who - in the off-season - refs the National Ladies Arm Wrestling Tournament.

DAWN LUEBBE is a writer, director, and actor. Her indie feature Greener Grass premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and will be released by IFC Midnight this fall. Luebbe has appeared on HBO's High Maintenance, TruTV’s Adam Ruins Everything and is the co-creator and star of the IFC web-series, Rage. Luebbe will be playing the role of Tessie, the sycophant sidekick of Brenda the Bonecrusher.

RON FUNCHES is a comedian who is also known for roles on The Goldbergs, Black•ish, New Girl, Transparent, Powerless, and Undateable. His personal appearances include Conan, The Tonight Show, @midnight, Chopped, and Cupcake Wars. He’s playing the role of Carl, the crass MC of the National Ladies Arm Wrestling Tournament, who loves his job a little too much and for all the wrong reasons.

AHMED BHAROOCHA is currently a series regular on Adult Swim’s Dream Corp LLC and is also a standup comedian who has been featured on Conan, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and also Comedy Central. He co-created and stars in the hit YouTube show Dead Kevin. Bharoocha plays the role of Jerry, a super fan who is obsessed with the tournament and one of its wrestlers.

APARNA NANCHERLA is a New York City-based comedian known for her regular appearances in Comedy Central’s Corporate, HBO’s Crashing, and Netflix’s The Standups. An actor, writer and producer, Nancherla most recently wrapped the first season as Co-Producer for the Rob McElhenney/Charlie Day Apple comedy Hero’s Quest; with additional television credits that include Netflix’s Master of None and LOVE, HBO’s High Maintenance, and Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, among several others. Nancherla is playing the part of Coco Cherie, an OBGYN by day and arm wrestler by night. 

DOT-MARIE JONES is known for her iconic, three-time Emmy-nominated role of Beiste on Glee for five seasons, as well as roles on Modern Family, Two Broke Girls and Jane the Virgin.  Jones will be playing the role of Big Sexy, the rough-and-tumble mentor who puts her trainees through a rigorous schooling in order to create a winner. In addition, Jones is also a 15-time world arm wrestling champion.

KATE FLANNERY is best known for her 9 seasons as Meredith the drunk on NBC’s The Office. She is an actor, comedienne, and singer. Kate is playing the part of RANDY, who  had a long career of winning bouts until Brenda came along and started to dominate the circuit. She's mostly retired from wrestling now but still enjoys the odd underground bout to show she’s still got it. The extra pocket money is nice as well.
